Buck Gully Trail

Looking to get outside and do something easy the whole family can enjoy? We headed to Buck Gully Reserve in Newport Beach to hike the trail.

Buck Gully, a hidden gem nestled in the coastal canyon of Newport. A peaceful, fun hike with small streams cascading from the side with birds & frogs chirping along the way.

The trail is open from dusk to dawn, it's used both for hiking and mountain biking.

Parking: free street parking; it's a residential area so make sure to read the street signs.

Trail: starts in Corona del Mar a total of 4.5 miles. It's a single track trail, with a steady climb and a few bridge crossings. The trail is a narrow dirt path so sturdy walking shoes is recommended.

Time: Plan approximately 40 - 60 minutes; depending on your pace and length of hike.

Notes: there are no restrooms available on the trail. Make sure to bring water with you; there's shade on the trails. The trail is not stroller friendly; a baby carrier is best. Dogs are not allowed.
