Snack Bites: Rhost Coffee

We had the pleasure of meeting Peter Song founder of rhost coffee.  He had a few minutes to answer our snack bites.

1. What inspired you to start the business?

Few years ago I found myself deeply immersed in the world of coffee production (growing, processing, roasting). The knowledge I gained during that time about the coffee industry created a true desire to craft coffee and inspired me to start the business. I’ve always had a dream to produce a product with my own touch to it and I found that in coffee roasting.

2. What is something special and unique about rhost?

The roasting process & specialty grade coffee greens is what I feel is most unique about rhost. We use a high-tech air-roasting system that produces smooth, balanced and consistent flavor profiles in our coffees. Also, the air-roasting process has very low impact on the environment, up to 80% less emission than the traditional roasting process.

3. What is your favorite snack?

Lately I’ve been obsessed with Snyder’s of Hanover Honey Mustard & Onion pretzels. Jam packed with flavor and dangerously addicting!

4. Tell us one of your hidden talents?

I play the piano and alto saxophone. Haven’t been able to play much recently but when I get the chance I definitely enjoy playing music. Some of my favorite piano pieces are Für Elise, Ballad pour Adeline and All of Me by Jon Schmidt (thepianoguys).
